The Marshall Report by LM

Thurgood Marshal’s nick name as a child was “Goody” but not a very good nick name for a child described as rambunctious, eager and hyper. In second grade his real name was Thoroughgood but he finally, said” I’m tired of writing Thoroughgood!” So he shortened it to Thurgood. In High School, Thurgood had a punishment, and his punishment was he had to write the US constitution and memorize it! He had very good grades and in fact, he got in to a school nick named “Black Princeton”! At Howard University he learned refining debating skills and process. He grew up to be a lawyer, but after a few years he got to be a supreme court Justus. Will Marshall (his dad) work on B&O Railroad. Thurgood was born in Baltimore, Maryland and on July 2end 1908 and died in Bethesda, Maryland and died on Jan. 24 1993.

I really liked reading about Thurgood Marshall. I am fascinated by his life!

LM,
I am so happy we have a Thurgood Marshall expert in our classroom. Did you know he is one of the American heroes we study this year? You will have a head start. Thank you for taking your own time to pursue this report.
