Warm Town Hall Reception for 3rd Grade

Students in 3rd grade are studying the Roots of Democracy. As the school buses carried them from Fire Station to Public Safety and on to the Municipal Court and Finally to the Town Hall in downtown Alpharetta, students learned first hand how the local government operates. Several children noticed the new Corinthian columns being erected on the bank at the corner of Old Milton and Haynes Bridge. Identifying Greek architecture is also a 3rd grade standard! One of the highlights in the Town hall meeting was the opportunity for students to sit in council seats and to press the voting buttons which register on a board for the audience to view. The large group topped off this adventure with a picnic at Wills Park. On the return home students commented about the 911 center, seeing a real tazer, Mr. Rogers in handcuffs, the judge hitting his gavel, the smoke house and amazing living quarters at the fire house and much more. Please be advised that your tax dollars really are at work! What a wonderful town we live in.

Slime Time for a Good Cause!

Today students raised the target heart rates of their teachers by sliming them. All in good fun, the teacher agreed in advance to be slimed if their students met a fundraising goal for jump Rope for Heart, a program implemented by the PE department of Creek View.

The whole student body will be able to relive the excitement in a Cheetah Channel special edition tomorrow morning, according to the rumor mill!

If you see any green-headed teachers, you will immediately be able to tell they were the ones slimed in this event. Apparently the food coloring lives on for several days!

Thank you for all of the heart felt contributions to this annual opportunity for giving.

He can control himself with a handle coming from the rocket. I made a commercial about him my sister (Nikki), my brother (Noah), and I are all in it. I printed of a script off my computer. I got the idea from a monster then I changed it to a monkey I was playing with. Amazing Ice Crystal Discovery

Hmmm, time to put your thinking caps on and try to discover why and how these crystals formed. Was it the damp ground, the mud, the fence? Why were they in on particular location? Will they come back? Why did it look like they were growing out of the ground? Why did they look like shards of broken glass?

A few days ago two of my friends discovered ice crystals growing from the ground. Both of them showed me the ice crystals and I measured the heat and they were at least 40 or 30 degrees they were also 3 in. We didn’t get much information because they melted, but used my pencil to make a circle in the ground and some of the pieces showed up proving that they grow underground. We saw tiny pieces left on the ground. On the first day of discovery my friends took 4 pictures of the ice crystals and showed it to the class. The whole class was amazed. JH

My friend and I have made a discovery,ice crystals growing out of the ground! They are about 3 in., and 50 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.My friend drew a circle in the ground and some pieces showed up. One day once I look out my window. I saw it was snowing. So I dressed up in my winter cloth and went ouside. Then my dad woke up and took me back in. He said " Young man come back in!" I said" Ok" and I went in. But I was not sad.
There was lots of other stuff to do. I was pretty happy. Theres video games, TV, Ping-Pong, and Piano. I did all of those things. Theen my dad said" You can go outside." I was Happy. the next second I went inside.

Thurgood Marshal’s nick name as a child was “Goody” but not a very good nick name for a child described as rambunctious, eager and hyper. In second grade his real name was Thoroughgood but he finally, said” I’m tired of writing Thoroughgood!” So he shortened it to Thurgood. In High School, Thurgood had a punishment, and his punishment was he had to write the US constitution and memorize it! He had very good grades and in fact, he got in to a school nick named “Black Princeton”! At Howard University he learned refining debating skills and process. He grew up to be a lawyer, but after a few years he got to be a supreme court Justus. Will Marshall (his dad) work on B&O Railroad. Thurgood was born in Baltimore, Maryland and on July 2end 1908 and died in Bethesda, Maryland and died on Jan. 24 1993.

I really liked reading about Thurgood Marshall. I am fascinated by his life!

Can you let us have a small fundraiser to pay for new chairs?We started with a patition and asked peoplein the playground and our classroom of what chairs they wan't. I want a puppy because the rule is that every girl needs her own pet, so what kind of parents would you be if you broke that rule? And, I promis I will feed it, play with it, and take care of it. Plus if it comes in my room, I will vacume it. I will teach it to be obedent and teach it to climb up ladders, run down slides and jump up high like Molly does. So what do you think ? Can you buy me a pet dog beacause then I won't play video games that much? You would like me not to play games beacause you want me to be outside. One day on saturday I went to india. My Trip to South Carolina

Last Friday was the day I went to
South Carolina, to see my grandparents.
My cousins were there also. We stayed for the night. The next morning we went to my
dads collage Wofford.

We won by 57 to 7. There was a
steep hill infront of the football stadiom.
When your going down the hill you would get
a piece of cardboard and slide down it.
It was my first time going to Wofford!!
After 4 hours my drove us down to the
party houses there. I started chasing a
boy named Paten all around the party house.
Then I started spying on other party
houses, with my friend Carlisle-Carly for
short. She is my age but she is 4 inches

What I am Going to Do Over the Weekend

This weekend i am going to the YMCA and play around and when i wont to leave then i will go to life time fitness. and at 5 the out side slide is open and at certain minutes everbody has to get out of the pool and wait 1 minute to get back in the pool and the little kids get in the pool wild we have to wait to get back in the pool and they do not have a 5 feet in the the pool it only goes up to 4 feet but for the grown up pool there pool number goes up to 5 or 6 feet and they also have awirly pool for the grown ups and if you want to go in the grown up pool you would have to be with a parent or you would have to be 19 or older and i mite go ice skating tat is my story.
